Marcel Schwob

Mayer André Marcel Schwob, dikenal sebagai Marcel Schwob (23 Agustus 1867 – 26 Februari 1905), adalah seorang penulis asal Prancis beraliran simbolis yang terkenal karena cerita pendeknya dan pengaruh sastranya pada penulis seperti Jorge Luis Borges,^[1] Alfonso Reyes, Roberto Bolaño^[2] dan Patricio Pron. Dia telah disebut sebagai "pendahulu Surealisme".^[3] Selain lebih dari seratus cerita pendek, ia menulis artikel jurnalistik, esai, biografi, tinjauan dan analisis sastra, terjemahan dan drama. Dia sangat terkenal dan dihormati selama hidupnya dan terutama berteman dengan sejumlah besar intelektual dan seniman saat itu. Sepanjang hidupnya, Schwob berhubungan dengan atau berteman dengan sejumlah besar tokoh dari dunia seni dan sastra.
